Mountain Maternity Session / Carrie Howland Photography

When Ashley emailed me to tell me that she was expecting baby #2 and wanted a maternity photo session, I knew I had to come up with something big to top her first maternity session. For that session, we went to Springs Farm peach orchard and we happened to get there when they were lobbing the trees.  It created a carpet of blooms and the result was magical.  See Ashley's First Session here.  How in the world would we top that?  Well, I had always wanted to do a session in the mountains and I reached out to Ashley and asked her if she'd be willing to make the drive.  She responded that she had the very same thought and was wondering if I'd go to the mountains.  It was kismet.

So we headed up to an overlook about an hour and a half from Charlotte.  The results were better than I imagined...such a beautiful scene and a beautiful mama....Ashley could teach a clinic on how to work the camera.  Every time I look at this session, I start singing "the hills are alive with the sound of music".  Does it have that effect on you too?
