Ah, the golden hour! As photographers, we are forever in search of the perfect golden hour. If you’ve been anywhere around Charlotte, NC this fall, you know that it has been elusive at best. With so much rain, I’ve had to cancel and reschedule a few sessions. Even without the rain, we’ve had a lot of cloudy evenings but not this one. This family had THE PERFECT day for their session.
It couldn’t have happened to a better family either. This is my 3rd time photographing this cute bunch. I first met them at their home for their newborn session. For their son’s 3-month session, we shot the photos around the historic home where momma grew up. For these photos, we chose one of my favorite fields in Davdison, NC. When the sun is shining like it is here, it is absolutely breathtaking.
The family came dressed in warm neutral colors that complimented the stunning scenery perfectly. Little “W” came ready to smile. I couldn’t believe how grown up has become. He was in a great mood and gave me lots of personality. The only time he fussed was when we took away the pumpkins to try to get some shots of him alone. Don’t mess with a boy and his pumpkins! ;)
This family is always a dream to photograph. They easily ignore the camera pointed at them (not easy to do) and naturally interact and bring the love for one another. I had the hardest time narrowing down the photos that I was going to edit. I could’ve probably given them a gallery of 150 images but ALAS that would’ve taken until December and my other beautiful families would be wondering where their photos were. Here are my favorites.
