Charlotte Maternity Photographer / Snowy Maternity Session

I’ve always wanted to do a photoshoot in the snow. With the first snow of the year forecasted, I decided to put out a model call for mothers to be. I had just invested in a large expansion of my maternity gown collection and there was one that I knew would be gorgeous in a snowy setting. Within minutes of posting my call, I had many volunteers so I decided to expand the opportunity to three beautiful expecting mommies. We shot right down the street from my house on the Birkdale golf course. Shooting in the snow was more challenging than I expected. There were sledders, footprints, houses, etc to shoot around. If you’ve followed my work, you know that I love warm backlight but the sun was setting right behind a row of houses that I didn’t want featured. A little creative editing was in order to keep the spotlight on these gorgeous models rather than the busy backdrop. Here are some of my favorites.
